How we began

Elyse's Story

Elyse was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia September 5, 2020...as if 2020 wasn't already terrible enough.  She had been feeling off for about two weeks and had been to the doctor.  We thought Elyse had somehow developed strep throat, then just bad allergies, then just a reaction to some dental work.  Elyse had always been very healthy.  But, it doesn't matter how healthy a child has been when cancer comes to town.

Elyse battled one of the more rare types of AML for 10 months.  We were in Dallas for 5 months and relocated to Seattle for 5 months to give our daughter the best chance of survival.  Elyse took every round of chemotherapy, every kink in the road and every setback like the true warrior she was.  She smiled and powered through even when she felt terrible, was lonely and scared.  She was our hero.

Elyse gained her angel wings on June 24, 2021 at 4:38am in Seattle, Washington two days after her bone marrow transplant.  Though, she made it to transplant, her little body couldn't take anymore. She died fighting until the end.

We want to honor our daughter's memory and help as many families as possible fight against this horrible disease.  Pediatric Cancer isn't rare and there isn't enough research into any and all therapies for pediatric cancer.  Elyse's Warrior Foundation wants to make a difference.  We want to keep on fighting in Elyse's name and prevent any family from having to go through this devastating loss like we have.  Please help us FIGHT!!!
